Lafiya is committed to protecting the privacy of you and your organisation, while providing you with the opportunity to get involved in our global activities by registering with the website (Lafiya Nigeria). This policy (Online Privacy Policy) describes the ways in which we collect information from you when you use the Website, and what we may use it for. We are committed to processing data in accordance with our responsibilities under the EU/UK’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and other applicable laws. Our co-director (Celine Kamsteeg) shall take responsibility for the ongoing compliance with this policy, which shall be reviewed annually.
Lafiya Nigeria is the controller and is responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as, "we", "us", "our" or “the company” in this privacy policy).

Article 5 of the GDPR (Articles 35-40 of The Data Protection Act 2018) requires that personal data shall be:
Processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to individuals;
Collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes and not further processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes; further processing for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes shall not be considered to be incompatible with the initial purposes; adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed;
Accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date; every reasonable step must be taken to ensure that personal data that are inaccurate, having regard to the purposes for which they are processed, are erased or rectified without delay;

Lafiya Nigeria is exempt from registering with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). However, all data we process must be done on one of the following lawful bases: consent, contract, legal obligation, vital interests, public task or legitimate interests.
Where consent is relied upon as a lawful basis for processing data, we keep evidence of opt-in consent together with your personal data. Where communications are sent to you based on your consent, you will always have the option to revoke your consent. Such options will be clearly available and systems should be in place to ensure such revocation is reflected accurately in our systems.

Personal information. Your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, other usage data
Payment information. We may collect your bank account details when setting up a regular direct debit, a credit card or debit card number when processing payments by card, and details about your taxpayer status when claiming Gift Aid.
Your preferences. We keep a record of what you’ve told us about how you like to be contacted (e.g. by email or direct mail).
Usage Data. May include but is not limited to information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

(i) To send you information about Lafiya’s programmes and other related activities.
From time to time, we, or third parties acting on our behalf, may wish to send you information about Lafiya which we believe you may be interested in and we may use User Data for this purpose. (ii) To provide the Website to you
We will use User Data to provide and improve the Website, to enable us to deal with any queries you have about the Website or Lafiya and to notify you of any changes to the Website.
(iii) To include User Data in anonymous statistics
We may provide anonymous statistics about our users to reputable third parties, but these statistics will not enable any third party to identify individuals or individual organisations.

ii) Right of access.
We maintain a register to ensure that our processing of your data is lawful, fair and transparent. You have the right to access your personal data and you can contact info@lafiyanigeria.org for such purposes. Any such requests made to us shall be dealt with in a timely manner.
iii) Right of objections.
You have the right to object to processing where we are using your personal information based on legitimate interests, for direct marketing or for statistical/research purposes (is this applicable?)
iv) Right of rectification.
You have the right to ask us to correct any inaccuracies in the personal information that we hold about you.
v) Right of erasure.
You have the right to ask us to delete your personal information at any time.
vi) Right of transfer.
You have the right to move, copy or transfer your personal information easily and safely from one IT environment to another, in some circumstances.
